Eastern Europeans have a positive impact on the Danish society

The debate on Eastern European labour has become principled and omits key elements, says Dorte Sindbjerg

According to data from Jobindsats, the amount of Eastern Europeans making Denmark their permanent home has been rising sharply since 2008. While this is often portrayed negatively, the overall impact on Danish society is ovrewhelmingly positive, says Dorte Sindbjerg in an interview with 'The Local':

“It has become a debate that is based upon principles of who we think our welfare state should cover and who we should feel a sense of solidarity with. Meanwhile, the discussion on the overall impact on the state coffers has slipped into the background.”
